Detroit local news Channel 7 WXYZ has kicked off the new year with a new initiative that I'm THRILLED about, Detroit 2020. I'm looking forward to becoming involved in this project in some way. Please take a few minutes to visit the site, and watch some of the clips. I suggest that you start on Page 2 with the first video post (December 8, 2010). Watching all of the clips may be time consuming, so I suggest watching 1 or 2 videos a day. If you are a Metro-Detroiter I highly encourage you to find a way to become involved in the rebuilding of your city.

- My name is Kelly and in 2008 I moved to Detroit to begin work on my Ph.D. in Instructional Technology. I have finished my coursework and will take qualifying exams in October 2010. Prior to my arrival in Detroit, I worked as a Technology Trainer for 4 years, and my last two years as a K-8 Classroom Computer Teacher. In 2004, with the help of a friend, I started a business, Kel Tech Industries, a technology training and design firm. KTI has conducted trainings for individuals, non-profit organizations, and school districts. It has also designed various marketing and design products for businesses, and created, written, and produced a children television typing show, KAT (Kids And Technology). This blog is to document and discuss educational technology topics, trends, and concerns, as well as, my experiences and exposures to the city of Detroit.
